Tupper Lake

The Tupper Lake region offers extraordinary natural resources and a culture rich in history. It's an area where homes are still affordable, and you can enjoy hundreds of lakes, thousands of miles of rivers, mountains over 4,000 feet in elevation, vibrant farms, and a cultural base rich with opportunity.

Tupper Lake has long been considered one of the best-kept secrets in New York's Adirondack Park. Another small town surrounded by beautiful waterways, this quaint community also features miles of forests for exploring, mountains for climbing, and four seasons of fresh air and breathtaking scenery.

There is no shortage of things to do in this rustic region, with the world-renowned Wild Center located in the heart of town. Nature is in everyone's backyard for easy access to all the wonders the Adirondacks hold.

Despite having some of the darkest skies in the northeast, Tupper Lake is easy to get to, being at the crossroads of the Adirondack and Olympic Scenic byways. A day's drive from NYC, Vermont, and Montreal, it is a favorite spot to visit. It has a rich history of pioneers, loggers and guides dating back prior to the 1890's when the trains made their way into the region. Known as the "Lumber Capital of New York" in the early 1900's, the town grew to the place it is today.
